This particular painting reminds me of a boat cruise around the Bay of Islands, New Zealand in February 2021. The colour of the water when we reached the Hole in the Rock was such dark deep blue. The sound of the seagulls and waves crashing. The feel of the wind whipping my face. The smell of the sea.
